Eton FR370 Canadian Red Cross Emergency Preparedness Radio with NOAA Weather Alert

You'll always be prepared with the Eton FR370 Emergency Preparedness Radio. Not only does this emergency radio feature the NOAA Weather Alert network, it was a digital turner with AM and FM frequencies, a built-in white LED light source, a red flashing LED, and can be powered from multiple sources. No matter what mother nature throws your way, you can stay safe by staying informed with the Eton FR370. When there's no access to electricity, you can charge the battery with the hand crank, or use the radio from the power of 3 AAA batteries. There's also a DC input if you are near a power source, and a solar panel to grab power to charge the battery from the sun! The USB will instantly charge your USB device such as a smartphone or cell phone, which works by instantly charge your USB device after cranking, to get power when you need it most. A telescopic antenna provides you with maximum reception, and connectors, with rubber gaskets/plugs to seal out moisture. The Eton FR370 Emergency Preparedness Radio proves that they really do think of everything, and that you can never be too prepared for when disaster strikes. Keep this radio in your home, car, or office, and always be prepared! UPC: 750254805806 Manufacturer's Part Number: CRCFR370R

Well designed quality Emerg Radio/Device

Date:April 24, 2012
Well built product that is well designed. Should be the one which all others are compared to. Get what you pay for tho I have seen some slightly more expensive that didn't seem as good.

will do the job

Date:December 18, 2012
Crank needs to be used fairly frequently to get the charge going to keep listening to radio, but if you'll need to quickly check on the situation then this is enough. Battery compartment allows a few conventional batteries to be used simultaneously, in which case you could use this as a regular radio. USB port is a nice addition, but again, you will need to crank it up to get your device charged, unless you have conventional batteries in it.
It has everything it needs. Considering this is for the emergency, it will do the job as is.
I would check on the crank charge once a year or so to make sure the charge battery (can be purchased when it's dead) is still alive.

Good functionality

Date:December 22, 2012
The unit was relatively easy to configure. Once it was charged up using the DC power the recharble battery that it comes with has a pretty long life. All functionality of the radio works well with the exception of the AM radio which could not receive any stations no matter where in the house I moved the radio.

Perfect for when the lights go out!

Date:November 24, 2012
I like the fact that the radio is wind-up incase the batteries run out; but there's also extra backup batteries, so that's great!
