Good thermometer
Date:March 14, 2013
I find that this thermometer works good and is a good deal for the price. I didn't have a digital reading of temperature in my apartment, so this works great to know the exact temperature inside. I left the outdoor sensor on my balcony and it has survived a Winnipeg winter with no problems. I expected the batteries in it to die just because of the cold weather, but it is still working fine. I didn't do the side-by-side temperature comparison as explained in the previous rating, but might do that in the future just to see if both are recording temperatures at the same level.

RETURNING IT, MAYBE TRY ANOTHER PAIR
Date:May 22, 2010
For the price, I guess it’s a little more accurate than licking my finger and going outside. When I followed the setup instructions and had the base and remote side-by-side, the temperatures were 2° Celsius different. The remote had the right temp., the base was reading too high. Secondly the manual states the remote is supposed to update every 35 seconds, try every minute or 65 seconds. I placed the remote switch to transmit on channel 2 and the receiver only picks up channel 3. Obviously this product isn’t going to work for my purposes. I need at least some accuracy and the two thermometers to read the same temperature when located in the same place. I am returning it to the store. Maybe I’ll try another set in case these are a “bad pair”. I was also interested in the Extra Sensor (Z35728) but it’s not kept in stock. Who’s going to pay $15 and wait until it’s ordered in?
